Camden treehouse complex

Our task was to design and build an original tree house and surrounding landscaping with active input from the school children. As part of this co-design project, we ran workshops with 60 children to gather ideas for their ideal play structures.

The designs were then translated to fit into a small site in the school grounds. The final structure comprised three platforms and a roofed tree house with tunnel, ladder, hammock and bark fill surfacing.

The children were also involved in our carpentry workshops, and were able to create additional features such as window boxes and insect hotels. The site had no drive-on access so all equipment and materials were brought in by hand.
