Wheelchair accessible tree house

Our brief for this unique project was to create a challenging tree house and landscape for a diverse range of user groups. The design was positioned 2 meters up a cedar tree, and had 45 meters of wheelchair accessible structures, including a rope bridge, beach sandpit and climbing trunks.

The design of this playground was heavily informed by those who were going to use it. Children with disabilities were also actively involved in carpentry and mosaic workshops as part of the project.

The site had no drive-on access so all equipment and materials were brought in by hand.
